Free Write 1.31.13

Today is Thursday, January 31st. I've been sick for the past four days now and all I want to do is sleep and watch Finding Nemo. Always seems to help everything. But I miss Tuesdays class so I'm here, barely I might add, and ready to get my day started. After class today its on to work. Which I'm definitely not looking forward too. That alone is going to make it a long day. I just can't wait until work is over though and then it's down to Stockton I go with my roommate to see my second family. First, it's a lttle over an hour to stockton and mind you I always ride with Malachi, so again that makes my day even longer. Just don't tell him I said that. Once we get to Stockon I'm guessing we will be going out to eat and then it's back to the church for bible study and play writing practice. I'm pretty excited. Although my day started a little to early, I bet by the end I will be happy I got everything done. I just wish I felt better! Hopefully this is the last day of the stupid sickness thing. Because quite frankly, "ain't nobody got time for that!"

It's only 8:31 and I'm already off to a bad start. I was late waking up this morning, because I've become so use to the sound of it. Time for a new alarm! I had less than 20 minutes to get ready this morning...hints why I'm wear barely any makeup and I have on jeans and a sweatshirt. So then it was off to class. And because I was late getting up and because OTC has terrible parking, I had to walk forever far to get to class. May I also remind you that it's around 19 degrees this morning. I finally make it to the build and have to go to the bathroom to clean my face up because the wind and the cold made my eyes water so bad. But I'm here and finally warm. Ready to start my day!

Free Write - 1.17.13

I work at Red Lobster in Springfield. I'm a host there and I very much enjoy it. I love meeting new people and asking about their days. It can be a stressful and busy job at times but I have began to love that place. The funny thing is I don't like seafood though. And I've worked there for two years and still haven't like it.
Anyways next topic, because I don't necessarily know what to type about. So I'll let you about my roommate. His name is Malachi. We have become really good friends over this past year and I have fallen in love with his family. They have taken me in as there own. They are a wonderful Christian family, which I admire so much. Malachi and I live in Springfield, but he is originally from Stockton which is where his parents still live. We drive down there at least once a week if not more.  Over Christmas break we went down there a lot and had so much fun. The put on a Christmas play at the church , had dinners and bible studies, which all were very enjoyable to attend.  Malachi has become one of my very good friends and I seriously don't know what I'd do without him and his family. 

Intro

Hello everyone! My name is ReBecca Burnett. Most call me Becca though, it's easier. This is my 4th semester here at good ol' OTC. I graduated from Ozark High School in 2011. While in high school I took a few dual credits. But I'm not very much of a school person, I only go because its kind of needed these days. I am still slightly undecided on what I want to do as a career when I grow up, but as of right now its looking like something within the criminology field. People always laugh at me when I tell them I would like to work in a prison...still haven't figured out why, probably because I'm not very intimidating and I smile all the time. But we will see!
I have lived in Springfield/Ozark my entire life. I have a very confusing family, but to shorten it I have two sisters and an older brother. My sisters are 23 and 14 and they are truly my best friends.

I would like to say that I've traveled the world like I've seen some of you have, but unfortunately I've barely been out of Missouri. One day I will travel around though and I can't wait! At the same time though, I do love Springfield...it truly is home for me.  I love to watch movies. My favorite movie is Finding Nemo. I know, I know but its true. I have an obsession with Netflix. I'm one of those that likes to watch entire seasons of tv shows in a week. Some of my favorite tv shows are Lie to Me, Walking Dead and How It's Made. I'm not much of a reader there are only a few books that I've read voluntarily and those would be The Hunger Games series and a few Nicholas Sparks books. I love to bake and try new recipes. I love to go to the lake in the summers. And I have three tattoos. Anyways, I think I've given enough information for you to work off of. See you all in class!

My name is ReBecca Burnett. This is my fourth semester here at OTC. I'm here to get my AA degree and then I will transfer to MSU, in hopes of going into the criminology field. I still havent decided exactly what I want to do in the criminology field, but I know there are plenty of options. Once I get my degree I hope to move somewhere other than springfield. I have lived in Springfield my whole life and I have decided I need something new to look at. I would love to move to Colorado just becasue I've always wanted to snowboard, and I have yet to be able to do that in Springfield. Don't get me wrong when I say I want to move away from springfield, I do love it, but mostly because I know it will always be my home. Yet, I would just love to go out and try something new.  I'm that way in life, I will always be up for something new. Whether it be to travel or try a new food, curiosty always gets the best of me.
